Benjamin Perlin - Nashville Photographer

About Benjamin Perlin

Benjamin Perlin is a Nashville photographer with a focus on capturing moments of transient beauty through the use of traditional film cameras. He processes film in a darkroom and uses various techniques, from solarizing to cyanotype, in developing his prints. Benjamin Perlin values the “accidents” that occur in the darkroom when the science of development meets artistic vision.

Active as a volunteer in his local community, Mr. Perlin has contributed time and effort to organizations such as the Second Harvest Food Bank and Habitat for Humanity of Greater Nashville. With the latter organization, he assists at the charity shop Habitat for Humanity ReStore, which sells a diversity of donated items. A deconstruction team assists homeowners in getting rid of unwanted furniture and fixtures during the remodel process. Mr. Perlin subsequently inventories and stocks items and assists value-focused customers within the retail setting.

Benjamin Perlin features a number of representative photographic images, taken with cameras such as a 1955 Zeiss Ikon Contessa and a Fujica Compact Deluxe, online at benperlinphotograhy.blogspot.com.
